The number of amazing smart phones coming out recently is huge. I guess they're all trying to beat the popularity of the iPhone. I don't know if the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 will beat it in popularity, but it definitely beats it in function. And in looks.
I think QWERTY keyboards are pretty important with smart phones - typing on a touch screen is too difficult and wastes time and if you're going to be using all of the X1's features, you're going to need to be typing quite a lot. It has every type of internet connection you can imagine (3G, Wi-Fi etc) so you'll never be without email, IM, or full web browsing. AND the keyboard on the X1 curves when it slides out to fit in your hands more comfortably.
Sony Ericsson really havn't left much out when designing this little beauty.
The X1 runs on Windows Mobile and has the coolest panel interface with loads of different functions. You can download panels that do pretty much anything too - and even make them yourself if you're smart enough. These are a bit like apps for the iPhone or the G1.
Unlike both of those, the X1 also supports video calling. The screen has amazing quality too, so you can watch DVD-definition movies on your phone wherever you are. All that AND you'll never get lost again, with the X1 providing Google Maps and directions from wherever you are.
That's a smart phone.
