The Holl House designed by Maynard Architects represents a search for a space that is adaptable both to the whim of its inhabitants as well as the need of a particular time. With multiple dimensions representing a search for a space that is fully adaptable and facilitates change, the Holl House becomes the truly fluid bit of architecture that is made especially to transcend time while retaining its essence.
It has a very futuristic design and definitely shows good inspiration and thoughts on how architecture can be completely new and different.

Amy Winehouse actually performed at Nelson Mandella's 90th birthday celebration concert on Friday. And it was GOOD.
Welcome back Amy:

My Thomas Sabo Wish List
Posted by Ciaran Moore | 6/25/2008 08:03:00 PM | clothing, fashion, style | 0 comments »The Key-Less Keyboard by designer Kong Fangwen is simply a glass surface with the form of the keys etched in, with a motion capture camera mounted atop it which tracks the motion of the fingers and translates it to the computer. All this stuff together creates a completely beautiful keyboard.
I'd rid of my laptop and go back to PC for one of these.
Check out the Floger Chair by Designnobis.
It's a modern, contemporary, beautiful chair with function. It comes in a variety of colours and one closed like a clamshell, they can be stacked.
Sexy.
Check out the Barcode watch from Tokyo Flash.
I'm really liking watches like this one right now. It's a great new way to tell the time in style. It's good that some designers are moving away from the original watch form. I think I gotta get myself one of these.
£105 from Asos.com.
Check out the Dita Legends Grandmaster-Two. The first edition pair are prescription glasses, but these are limited edition sunglass version and they're actually beautiful. There are only ten in the whole world, so the $575 price tag is justified.
Unfortunately, they're only available for US delivery, so I'm going to get my ticket to the US right now. Haha.
Check out DitaLegends.com for the product page.
An addition to this summer's hotlist of must-have sunglasses; these beautiful shades from Persol.
They're clasically cool, in an old-style Hollywood way. Gotta get myself a pair.
You can buy these from the sunglass hut for around £180.
I gotta get myself one of these:
The ICON A5 sport aircraft was revealed recently, marking a huge change in aviation.
The price is set at only $139,000 (around £71,000) but production is limited and (I think) the A5 is only available in the US... so far. This plane is completely personal, with features such as foldable wings for storage and transportation to a cockpit that poses a striking resemblance to an automobile interior.

"The Sport Flying revolution has just begun. In 2004, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), working closely with the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) created what has been called “The biggest change in aviation in 50 years.” They created an entirely new category of aircraft (Light Sport Aircraft) as well as a new category of pilot license (Sport Pilot), both aimed specifically at consumer recreational flying. Now, the dream of flight is more accessible and more affordable than ever before."
The cost of this sport pilot license is only $3,500 (around £1,800) proving that flying is becoming more affordable and accessable for many people.
The ICON A5 IS the ultimate toy.
Check out ICONAircraft.com for more info on the A5.

This is the first of Honda's new hybrid concept cars; the CR-Z.
I really don't know why, but most hybrid cars around right now are just not good looking. This beauty will definitely change that.
It will use the Civic Hybrid's Integrated Motor Assist technology and mate that car's 1.3-liter engine with 94 hp to a 15kW electric motor powered by a nickel-metal-hydride battery pack. Fuel economy, according to insider predictions, will be somewhere around 71 - 82 miles per gallon, but that's based on Japanese domestic use. Expect a drop for US or UK comparison.
Check out the CR-Z on Honda.com.
Check out my completely beautiful but flexible Summer outfit.
The double breasted cardigan will add a useful second layer, but this one's not thick at all, so no need to worry about the heat.
This polo shirt should definitely be the focal point of the outfit; the colour deserves it.
Slim fit jeans are definitely my jean fit of choice for this summer - not uncomfortably skinny, but still showing a good shape. This indigo pair with a slight turn-up is a perfect choice.
Plain white plimsolls are real versatile - you can wear them almost anywhere and still fit in.
Keeping the accessories simply black with this outfit, 'cause we need to remember to emphasise the colour of the polo shirt.

Lilypad by Vincent Callebaut
Posted by Ciaran Moore | 6/17/2008 12:00:00 AM | architecture, style | 0 comments »One of the most inspirational architects of today, Vincent Callebaut has produced possibly the most instantly famous modern designs, the Lilypad.
Inspired by the giant lilypads of the species Amazonia Victoria Regia, the Lilypad is a floating city designed as an "Ecopolis for Climatic Refugees", up to 50,000 "climatic refugees" actually. Haha. This will prepare the biggest coastal cities of the world for global warming.
Its ability to harness energy from the wind, sun, and waves will enable the Lilypad to produce more energy than it consumes. However, judging by the slated 2100 completion date, it seems that Vincent Callebaut has drawn up something that, breathtaking and awe-inspiring as it is, may not be realized in his lifetime, if at all.
Ribbon by Claire Norcross
Posted by Ciaran Moore | 6/16/2008 10:50:00 PM | art, design, style | 0 comments »The Ribbon table lamp by product designer Claire Norcross for Habitat is an example of inspirational modern design.
I don't really need to say much about the Ribbon 'cause the picture above says just about everything that needs to be said. The shape is amazing, the materials and finish are amazing and this light would, overall, make a great addition to any room.
Check out the product page (UK).
The hottest phone around right now: the HTC Touch Pro.
It's not released until around the end of summer and it will be around £500 ($1000). Yeah, it's quite a lot of money for a mobile phone, but it definitely seems worth it. Check out some of the Touch Pro's proper nice features.
Most of the stuff on this Windows mobile device can be accessed by the touch screen on the front, including Wi-Fi internet, viewable in widescreen with just the tilt of the screen sideways. There are two cameras; a 3MP one on the back for photos and stuff, and a VGA camera on the front for video calling. But to cut out the chore of texting on a touch screen, there is a full 5-row QWERTY keyboard that slides out of the back of the phone. This feature is real cool, but it hasn't properly hit the UK before the HTC Touch Pro.

Better than an iPhone anyday. Haha.
Check out HTC.com for all the info on the HTC Touch Pro.
Mystery Jets are definitely one of the hottest new bands around right now.
NME even named them ‘The Future Of British Music’. Now that's a title. Haha.
Check out the video for Two Doors Down, my favourite song right now. A definite summer tune.
