Another One

Here's another hott outfit. Wow, I'm on a roll today. Haha.

This cropped mac from ASOS is really cool, but I suggest you wear it open, just to show all the other hot stuff you'll be wearing underneath it. Haha.

This gingham scarf from Topman is really hot.

This soft cotton Y-Neck t-shirt from Junk De Luxe is beautiful.

Wear a couple of these multicoloured wristbands to add a tiny dash of colour to the outfit.

This little web belt is a beauty.

I really like these dark blue low rise jeans.

Chelsea boots from H by Hudson to complete the look.

Guess Who

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/31/2008 02:00:00 PM | | 0 comments »

The Karl Lagerfeld Teddy Bear by German teddy bear maker Steiff, will be released in September at Neiman Marcus in New York and will go for above $1400/£770 a piece but production is limited to 2500. So you would be extremely lucky to get your hands on one of these.

It comes wearing the black suit and sunglasses Lagerfeld made famous.

$1400? For a teddy bear? Okay.

Haha.

The Strangers

I love scary movies but I've never found a movie that can really scare me.

The Strangers certainly did a good job of trying though. It was extremely jumpy and quite creepy, at parts. Check out the trailer below.

I definitely suggest you check out The Strangers at the movies whenever you can. Although it didn't scare me as much as I would like, it's a good film.

Any suggestions of movies that'll actually be able to scare me? Leave them in the comments.

Semi-Formal

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/31/2008 12:05:00 PM | , | 1 comments »

I've ditched the jeans for this kind-of-smart-ish outfit made up completely of clothing from Topman.

You can never go wrong with a simple but beautiful little grey cardigan. And this one goes very well with the shirt below.

This ruby gingham shirt will give an amazing focal point to the outfit and make you stand out. In a good way.

A beautiful little skinny grey belt to accessorise this outfit perfectly

I really like that these grey wool trousers have a skinny cut. They're beautiful.

These creased brogues complete this outfit.

Mind-Bending USB Lollipops?

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/31/2008 11:55:00 AM | | 1 comments »

Okay, technology is getting scary.

This is Eye Candy, it's described on the website as using "cutting edge Sensory Substitution Technology to transmit vivid emotive images into your mind's eye".

Devices like Eye Candy work by producing a matrix of small electrical pulses on your tongue, which is loaded with nerves, in the shape of a certain object to fool the brain into seeing it.

It's available in six different flavours that all do different things to your brain. Scary, huh?

I'm a bit sceptic about this - I don't think I'll believe it until I experience it. So if you're out there, Mr Inventor of Eye Candy, send me a little test sample and I'll tell everyone if these things actually work or not. Haha.

Bugatti Veyron

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/31/2008 12:05:00 AM | | 0 comments »

This is the world's fastest convertible supercar, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport.

Now this is quite confusing, 'cause this car has three seperate top speeds - 130 km/h (81 mph) with the top off, 252 mph with the polycarbonate roof and 224 mph with the top removed. I think we can all agree that all three top speeds are extremely high.

You're lucky if you get one of these amazing cars - Only 150 examples will be made available, with the first 50 going to registered Bugatti customers AND they're $2.05 million/£1.13 million each!

That's alot of money. But is it worth it? I think so.

Comfortably Cool

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/30/2008 10:00:00 PM | , | 0 comments »

Check out this cool and comfortable outfit for looking extremely good, informally.

I don't know about you, but I'm definitely at my most comfortable when in a grey hoody. I don't know why - they're usually just more comfortable than hoodies in other colours. Haha. Crazy, right? This one from Dsquared2 is really cool.

I really like this Prison Break T-Shirt from SMET.

Obviously if you're looking for comfort, you're not going to wear skinny jeans or the newly trendy drop-crotch jeans. You should go for a good comfortable cut, like the classic straight cut on these Viker jeans from Diesel.

I'm in love with all the shoes from Dolce & Gabbana's Autumn/Winter 2008 collection and these high-tops are no different.

P.S. Remember you can click on the pics to go to the product pages. And now, if you hover over the pic you'll get the name of the product along with the price. Handy, yes?

Future City: Ziggurat

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/30/2008 08:00:00 PM | | 0 comments »

Ziggurat is truly an architectural masterpiece from the future; powered by steam, wind turbines and other natural energy resources, this desert city in the United Arab Emirates (where else?) will cover 2.3 square kilometers and be able to sustain a community of up to a million people!

It will also feature a public transportation system that runs both horizontally and vertically, and plans are being drawn up to utilize both public and private green spaces for agricultural opportunities.

The plans will officially be unveiled at Cityscape Dubai, an event which runs from the 6th to the 9th of October '08. I can't wait for more information on this amazing new construction - I'll keep you up to date with it all.

I'll definitely be wanting a cool eco-friendly pad in Ziggurat when it arrives.

Going Mobile

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/30/2008 07:50:00 PM | 0 comments »

CIARANMOORE.blogspot.com and the world of mobile browsing are now BFFs.

I've made two new mobile sites which make enjoying everything about my blog, anywhere you want, extremely easy - one regular mobile site, find it by typing in tinyurl.com/mobilecm to your mobile browser, and an extra special one for people with the iPhone. You can find that by typing tinyurl.com/iphonecm into your iPhone browser.

Now you can be literally anywhere and still be able to get great style tips and entertainment from CIARANMOORE.blogspot.com. Exciting, huh?

When viewing on a mobile browser, you'll be able to see all text and photos I include in my posts in a size that fits your screen, but it's a bit different for videos. On the iPhone site, you will be provided with a link to the video I include in the post, but with the regular mobile site you won't be able to view the videos.

While I'm at it I may aswell let you know about another cool feature I've got going on. You might have noticed the little "what am I doing" box to the right of my page recently. Well that is connected to my new Twitter account. If you've not heard of Twitter, it is an internet phenomenon that enables you to update people online whenever you like as well as being updated on what everyone else is twitter-ing. I send regular random updates to my Twitter by text so you should definitely click here and follow me. It'll be fun.

Who Else Wants A Bold?

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/30/2008 02:59:00 PM | | 1 comments »

If you, like me, have never really considered a blackberry and just left it to the business people among us, the Blackberry Bold might be the very device to change your mind. Like it did with me.

Features have literally been packed into this thing - it connects to 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS so wherever you are, you'll never be far from your emails, or your favourite blog; the Bold has a real browser which supports HTML along with a big beautiful screen. Perfect for checking out what's hot at CiaranMoore.blogspot.com. Haha. It also has a 2MP camera and obviously, the amazing QWERTY keyboard which makes texting, emailing and IMing on the device easier than on a regular phone keypad. And definitely much easier than typing on touch-screen superphones like the iPhone.

I think that partly answers the big question about the Blackberry Bold; Does it beat the iPhone?

Yeah, it does.

Blackberries are no longer just for executives - stylish people will be flocking to get themselves a Bold due to its flawless appearance. It just looks extremely appealing - there's not much doubt in that.

Check out Blackberry.com for more info on the Bold and to find out how you can get yourself one.

Sorry I've not been posting much lately - I've been trying to get back to normal after returning back to school and losing a load of spare time. It's OK though, 'cause I'm going to make it up to you with this hott designer outfit for Autumn/Winter 2008. Check it out.

Grey knit jumpers are one of the biggest trends for AW08, and this one from D&G is proper perfect.

This Double Layer Sleeveless Rugby T from Dolce & Gabbana is amazing.

I've posted about the barbed wire jewelry range from Martin Margiela. And now here's the belt! Haha. Margiela keeps bringing more amazing accessories to the barbed wire range, and this is another hottie.

The cut of these black jeans from Diesel is great.

Lanvin do some amazing shoes and these black patent trim high-tops perfect this outfit completely.

Vintage: American Idiot

Green Day's 2004 album, American Idiot has been named the best comeback album ever by Rolling Stone. It was at one time the number one album on TEN music charts worldwide and went 8 times platinum. So I think you'll all agree, American Idiot was definitely a successful album.

Check out the video to their single of the same name below.

Mixin' It Up

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/16/2008 08:04:00 PM | , | 0 comments »

I've mixed some different types of labels and brands with this outfit. From Dior Homme to Topman, but I think you'll agree that all these pieces definitely go very well together.

This beautiful grey dogtooth skinny blazer from Topman will help you stand out wherever you are. In a good way ofcourse - everyone will be appreciating your amazing outfit. Haha. It's £60.

This soft cotton fitted button-through shirt by Hartford has a really hot plaid design, but it's got a striking white collar too. Perfect. £90

I really love this silver reflective leather belt by All Saints. It's £25.

These slim cut jeans from Dior Homme are made from a a cotton blend corduroy which gives them a really good look and finish. $640/£340

I really love the stud details to these shoes from Rock & Republic. $350/£190

Madonna turns 50 years old today and just about everyone's talking about it, so I thought I'd join them and post a vintage video, from 1985, to wish her a happy birthday.

She might be 50, but she still looks damn good.

Autumn Outfit

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/14/2008 06:26:00 AM | , | 0 comments »

Check out this amazing outfit I've put together completely from pieces from Topman, so it's affordable as well as extremely hot.

This black bomber jacket is 100% polyurethane, so you can look good in it while still being concious about my recent topic. £60

Layering looks really good with this type of look; the perfect piece for layering is a cardigan, and this knitted grey cotton cardigan will do the trick nicely.

I always like to have fun with colours with my tees. This orange deep vee neck t-shirt is proper striking. AND it's only £6!

This silver bike chain bracelet is another piece from the hot new trend of rugged jewellery in menswear, and it looks extremely good in this outfit. £8

Skinny black jeans, a modern classic. Simple and beautiful. £30

These grey canvas shoes are amazing for casual every-day stuff and will probably look good wherever you end up.

Ferrari FXX Evoluziones

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/14/2008 06:10:00 AM | | 0 comments »

Is this the most exlusive car on the planet?

This is the Ferrari FXX Evoluziones and there are only three people in the whole world recieving one, each hand-picked by Ferrari from a bunch of applicants.

Weirdly though, two of the three are going to Hong Kong with the other coming to Europe. Lucky Hong Kong.

The FXX Evoluziones features a heavily revised variable aerodynamics package and advanced electronics, channeling 860 horsepower from the developmental supercar's 6.3-liter V12 with its atmospheric 9500 rpm redline.

Support PETA

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/14/2008 05:32:00 AM | 0 comments »

I'd like to show my support for PETA on my website. After recently learning of the horrific ways in which animals are killed in this industry, I decided to stop posting anything with fur or reptile skin and keep leather to a bare minimum in my posts. I am ashamed of any previous post including animal skin and have certainly dramatically changed my views on the subject. That being said, I would be braking an unwritten law of blogging to delete any information from my posts, so instead I will add an anti-fur banner to any post you find that is particularly murderous. Just let me know; either by emailing me or by leaving a comment on that post. Fur is not hot, neither is snake, crocodile, aligator or any other skin. There are also amazing alternatives to leather. Innocent animals do not need to continue suffering for humans to look good - we can pull it off without something dead wrapped around us, and that is part of what I aim to prove from now on. If you'd like more information on how you can make a difference, or if you support fur or animal skin in any way, I'd like you to visit FurIsDead.com. You will learn something from it. If you still approve of the animal skin industry after checking out that website, you must be stupid. Ciaran Moore - 14/08/2008

The above passage is a notice. I have placed it at the bottom of my page and have also used it in a post. After a week or so, I'll reduce this to a few prominent anti-fur links in one of the right-hand columns. Also: visit PETA.org.

Autumn '08 Trend: Plaid

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/13/2008 04:50:00 AM | , | 0 comments »

One of the biggest trends in the Autumn/Winter 2008 collections was plaid. It was everywhere.

D&G were huge on this trend, with a huge part of their collection in amazing tartan.

I also posted about plaid from Marc by Marc Jacobs, Gilded Age and even Comme des Garcons. Check it out below.

But you gotta know how to wear plaid. And that's where I come in.

In my opinion, the most important thing about plaid right now is that it is different from check, and you have to remember that. One of the biggest trends in Spring/Summer 2008 was check, so if you're dressing in Autumn, check is out of date.

Check is a series of squares together, much like a chess board, while plaid is a series of lines perpendicular (at right angles) to one another, making up what looks a bit like check, but is not. That's the difference between check and plaid.

This obviously isn't as important to other people, as stores like Topman don't even feel the need to distinguish between check and plaid - they just call everything check. Confusing, huh?

So that's why I'm going to help you tell the difference between check and plaid, and hopefully get one of the new season's biggest trends exactly right. I'll be posting with many ready-to-wear pieces of clothing for the Autumn/Winter season and I'll show you only what I consider to be perfect plaid.

The first piece of perfect plaid for Autumn/Winter 2008? This deconstructed white and grey shirt from Nom de Guerre. It may be described as check on the website you'll go to if you click on the pic, but it's definitely plaid.

That shirt is £135.

I hope you've learned something from this post. If you want to learn lots more (not only about what's check and what's plaid - I promise), just subscribe.

P.S. You can click on the runway pics and go to my original post about that collection.

Katy Perry's managed to stay at the number 1 spot on the US Billboard chart for over a month, and now she's hitting the UK. I Kissed A Girl got to #1 in Britain with downloads alone! That's pretty impressive.

Autumn's Arrived

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/11/2008 11:44:00 PM | | 0 comments »

How long has it been? A week since I've posted? Okay, let's change that with the start of another good season. It may not be the official start of Autumn, but some of us have definitely already experienced the start of Autumnal weather, so we need to start building our Autumn/Winter 2008 wardrobes.

Let's begin by taking a look back at my favourites from the Autumn/Winter, or Fall 2008 collections when we saw them last year at the shows.

My favourite look from the whole season was the one below, worn by the legendary Luke Worrall, from Moschino.

But my favourite collection overall was definitely my all-time best, D&G. With great use of tartan and iconic pieces popping up everywhere, I think this collection will go down as one of my favourites of all time. Check out a couple of photos from the show below.

You can click on any of the pics in this post and go to the original post about that collection from last year. And then check out the other collections I posted about: Michael Kors, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Gilded Age, John Galliano; Comme des Garcons; Hermés; Sean John; Gucci; Dolce & Gabbana; Prada.

I'll be bringing you loads of ready to wear Autumn/Winter 2008 outfits soon, so stay tuned and check them out!

Vintage: The Karen Dunbar Show

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/03/2008 02:39:00 AM | | 0 comments »

I don't know if you've heard of her wherever you are, but Karen Dunbar is one of Scotland's most famous comedians. She hasn't had a series for quite a while, must be taking a break or something, and that makes me sad. So I decided to relive one of the finest moments of The Karen Dunbar Show. This is a clip of Almost Angelic - one of Karen Dunbar's most hilarious sketches. Watch it through and I'm sure you'll agree, it's amazing.

"Cheer yerselves up ya crabbit buggers!" - true classic.

I've added videos from the shows of some of the Spring/Summer 2009 menswear collections. They're pretty cool. Check out the first video, from D&G below then you can watch the rest of them in the original posts.

The collections I got videos for were: D&G; Dolce & Gabbana; Lanvin; Dior Homme; Burberry Prorsum; Dsquared².

Also, I've got a new section for my blog. It is clothing and it's dedicated to all the ready to wear outfits and clothing I feature on my blog. I've added all my posts with cool ready to wear stuff in them to the clothing tag, so check it out for hot outfits etc.

August's First Outfit

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/01/2008 08:40:00 PM | , | 0 comments »

I don't know about where you are, we've kind of still got Summer weather here. But who cares? Cuz this layered outfit will definitely be hot whatever kind of weather you're experiencing.

This black hooded leather jacket from Mike & Chris is very cool. The perfect mix of chic and street. Haha. $977/£499

Raf Simons and Linda Farrow made a baby. And that baby is the amazingly beautiful pair of sunglasses above. These little beauties are available in red, olive, grey, navy and silver and they're limited edition. Real amazing. £165/$322

I really love this cardigan from RVCA. It's $74/£37.

Every time you look at the Samarai Mask t-shirt from Affliction you find something new. It's amazing. £60/$117

Really hot Levis. £199/$389

These hot Rock and Republic sneaks are $143/£73.

Is it just me that's noticing the difference in the exchange rate between the US and Britain? It used to be better. I think. Or am I just going crazy?

CRAVE

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 8/01/2008 03:38:00 PM | , | 0 comments »

Update: the product above has mysteriously disappeared from its website, so the link doesn't work, but I'm trying my best to find those shoes somewhere else. If and when I do, I'll change the link and let you know.

I'm really disappointed about that; those were one of the hottest pairs of sneaks I've ever seen.

Update #2: I've looked through all the listed online retailers of Creative Recreation and still not found them again. If you see them around let me know where they are please.

Find me those shoes! Haha.

Update #3: Found them! There was a mistake at the site they were being sold with the wrong description of the shoes. OakNYC.com let me know the real name of the high-tops. They're out of stock at the moment (unsure when they'll be back) so I found them somewhere else. You can click on the pic to go to the product page. Finally. Haha.
