I Want A Chocolate Lamp!

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 10/28/2008 11:05:00 PM | | 0 comments »

Well obviously it's not real chocolate...

It's just plain genius!

The high-gloss stem and base resemble a chocolate fountain – it looks as if melted chocolate were flowing from within the lamp.

You can check it out at Cassina.

The drop crotch jean is a brand new trend and it's huge this Autumn/Winter. I'm a big fan of drop crotch jeans and will definitely be getting a pair pretty soon. Probably the pair below; Trousers One from Trousers London. Beautiful.

Diana Makes Me Smile

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 10/27/2008 01:18:00 AM | | 0 comments »

Once again Diana Vickers gave a proper amazing performance during live show number 3 of The X Factor on Saturday night.

Although this song kind of creeps me out, they way she does it makes it amazing.

P.S. Cheryl Cole can't get any more beautiful, can she?

This Bug Brooch from Topman is amazing. And it's only £8!

Most Confusing Building Ever

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 10/24/2008 02:51:00 PM | | 0 comments »

This is Le Project Triangle, to be completed in Paris in 2014. On one side it looks like a massive pyramid but on the other side it looks like an ultra-thin triangle. What's going on here? I've got to see this thing when it's completed. The architects also claim that due to the construction of this building, it casts no shadows at all. Weird!

It is beautiful though.

Tilly And The Wall

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 10/24/2008 02:32:00 PM | | 0 comments »

I'm really liking Beat Control by Tilly and The Wall right now. It's definitely one of those songs that makes you want to party. Haha. Check out the video below. It's hilariously creepy, but the song's great.

Tilly and The Wall must be one of the coolest bands ever - they have a tap dancer instead of a drummer. Amazing. Haha.

Winter Trend

This trend has been on its way for quite a while now; the chunky grey cardigan. They're really hott this Winter so here are a couple of the most beautiful; one from McQ by Alexander McQueen at £275 and the other by ASOS and £35. No difference, really.

Brooches for men (and women) are becoming extremely hott again - all the coolest designers are coming out with some beautiful ones, including this one from Raf Simons.

Rainbow Glasses

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 10/24/2008 02:21:00 AM | | 0 comments »

These are the RGB Rainbow Glasses by Luís Porém and they're pretty awesome.

They're hollow pieces of clear plastic that you can fill with any colour ink or liquid you like to create the perfect look for your outfit for the occasion.

Unfortunately, I don't wear glasses but I would actually love these if they were available as sunglasses. Haha.

Check out Luís Porém's website by clicking here.

Jil Sander's marble print is taking over! Everyone should have a bit of this in their wardrobe for Autumn/Winter '08.

Love The Google Phone

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 10/23/2008 12:50:00 AM | | 0 comments »

My new favourite smart phone is the G1 from T-Mobile.

HTC teamed up with T-Mobile to create this little iPhone-killer. This is the perfect phone for people who want to keep in contact always - it has an amazing QWERTY keyboard which is great for texts, instant messages and emails. It also has a great blogger function so I think I might just have to try that out for myself.

Check out this clip from The Gadget Show which shows a little review along with a few of the many amazing features.

A Trench Coat for winter. This black one from Topman is hott stuff.

P.S. If you hover over the picture, you'll see the retailer's description of the product and the price. Usually if the website is British I just include the price in GBP, but if it's an American website I convert the price myself and include both. Anyway, I'm going to add a currency converter to one of the side bars pretty soon to make it better for you, wherever you are in the world, to convert the price of products i post about into your own currency.

That was a lot of typing for a tiny message. Haha.

Diana To Win

The second live show of the X Factor here in UK was on Saturday and my favourite, Diana, stole the show once again with her performance of Michael Jackson's Man In The Mirror. Check it out.

There are 11 acts left in the X Factor and I'll be looking out for Diana right through to the finals and probably also sharing with you some more of her performances. 'Cause she is quite great.

GT by Citroen

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 10/20/2008 06:26:00 PM | | 0 comments »

Here's another amazing concept car from Paris Auto Show; the GT by Citroen. It's definitely the most futuristic thing I've seen come out of Citroen but I doubt very much that it'll make it to production. Not for quite a while yet anyway. Check it out.

Looks like they've got a bit of work to do on the engine etc but maybe the GT could be Citroen first supercar. Who knows?

Remixed

Another extremely hott new trend is the dot. And while some may prefer a dot accessory such as a little silk polka-dot scarf, I think going the whole way with a beautiful dot shirt like this one from Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Note the colour; purple is another key trend right now so this could well be the ultimate trendy shirt.

Want AK Bullets in Your Drink?

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 10/16/2008 03:00:00 PM | | 1 comments »

Now this is how you make your drink really cool.

This must be the coolest ice cube tray I've ever seen - it makes a clip of 12 bullet-shaped ice cubes.

You can pre-order yours now by clicking here. They're pretty cheap - £7.99 ($15.15).

Specter Chair: Good Design

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 10/16/2008 03:11:00 AM | | 0 comments »

I'm a big fan of good chair design and I'm really loving the innovative stuff that's been coming around lately. Check out the "Specter Chair" from designer Josh Urso.

While the chair appears to be a draped piece of fabric over a solid structure, it in fact has no structure. The fabric has been treated so that it is stiff enough to serve as the four legs and seat.

This marks a great development in the manipulation of materials in product design and I look forward to seeing much more of it.

Winter Trend

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 10/16/2008 03:02:00 AM | , | 0 comments »

Whether you like it or not, one of this Winter's biggest trends is the trapper hat. What I suggest is to be brave and get one now - you'll be just in time to look like a trendsetter when everyone starts wearing them.

An all over (faux) fur trapper is the best choice in my opinion and this one from ASOS is pretty hott.

A Whole New Bicycle

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 10/16/2008 02:40:00 AM | | 0 comments »

Now here's a product that's remained relatively the same since it was invented - the bicycle!

But don't worry 'cause this concept from the Italian industrial design house of Alberto Del Biondi is here to change all that.

It uses innovative engineering to get rid of the spokes on the tires and give the bike a completely fresh look.

This is the kind of design that will encourage people who appreciate good design to reduce their carbon footprint and cycle somewhere instead of driving. We need more of this.

The entire frame of this concept is made from carbon which helps the perfect geometric proportions of the "premium city bike" give the amazing minimalist look you see. It also reduces the weight of the bicycle notably, making it extremely appealing for, well... cyclists. Haha.

This is another beautiful concept I would love to see go into production. Let's look out for it in the future.

Who Else Wants A New Macbook?

The hugely anticipated new Macbook arrived today. All I can really do is shut up and let you look at it in awe. Haha.

It's available right now, so go buy!

WOW: Estoque

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 10/04/2008 07:34:00 PM | | 0 comments »

Paris Auto Show just happened and a load of amazing concept cars were uncovered so I'm going to be sharing with you all my favourites.

This is the first. It's the Lamborghini Estoque, the Italian automaker's first four-door vehicle.

Here's some more info on the Estoque for people who know a little bit about automobiles.

"The Estoque, named for the sword use by the Matador in a bull fight, is actually listed as mid-engined with the motor placed behind the front axle. The car sits extremely low at just 4.43 feet high, but still provides plenty of interior space for all four passengers due to the long wheelbase of over three meters. As we expected, Lamborghini states that no official decision has been made regarding production, but did hint that the Estoque could lead to a third model in the lineup with numerous engine possibilities including the V10 from the Gallardo LP560-4, a turbocharged V8, a V8 with a hybrid mode, or even a high-performance TDI."

Unfortunately, like many concept cars, this beauty might not make it to production looking exactly like that... but we can still hope, yeah?

The Revival

Posted by Ciaran Moore | 10/01/2008 05:53:00 PM | | 0 comments »

Sorry I've not been posting in quite a while - things got a bit really busy for a while. Had a good break in Egypt but now I'm back and better than ever. But there's loads of cool and exciting stuff coming up very soon so stay tuned.

Now here is one of my favourite songs at the moment - the brand new single from one of the coolest girls on the planet, Katy Perry. It's from her current album One Of The Boys and it's called Hot N Cold. Check out the video below.

Update: looks like the official music video has been removed from YouTube due to a copyright claim, even though it was on Ms Perry's personal YouTube account, so here's an alternative to the official music video; a performance of Hot N Cold from SXSW.
